JustynAdventure: We're In Warsaw

There's so much to see in Poland. We've only visited two cities, but everything about Warsaw and Poiniatowa is so charming and inviting; the food, the architecture, the people, you name it. I never thought I could fall so much in love with a country, and it's people, but I did.

We stayed in Warsaw for the first couple days of our tour, and now we're in Poiniatowa for the next two days. Warsaw is a very lively city. There's so many things to see and do, and everything is walking distance. From our hotel we could visit "Old Town" where there's a giant square that bustles tourists and natives alike. You can visit the river and walk along the bank. You can see where Chopin studied piano. You can shop for souvenirs or have a drink with friends at a cozy outdoor restaurant. You can eat the best ice cream that's taller than your face, and you can especially enjoy the scenery.

We met so many different people in Warsaw, amazing people at that. They are a people who appreciate music, who love music and it's power, and love what we do with music. They are so welcoming and so caring. Even though there may be somewhat of a language barrier at times, that didn't stop us from sharing the common language of music and sharing ourselves with them who kindly and excitedly returned the favor.

Our first full day in Warsaw, Singco got to perform at a local jazz club. We had no idea what kind of crowd we would get or what kind of set up it was. We were totally just going with the flow of things and it turned out great. It was hot on stage (especially in our outfits), but that hurt our performance. So many people from the city came, a lot of students from the university who sing in the choir there had stopped by to enjoy our music and we had a great time. They even got up and started dancing at a Singco concert. That's crazy, but how awesome? They're just so free!

Day 2: We had a lot of time on our own to see the city. RCC chamber singers had arrived and we had the opportunity of performing with them at the Arch Cathedral in old town. Both Mt Sac chamber singers and RCC sound beautiful in that acoustic-rich room. It was so open and live, that the voices just floated. It carried so far that people were coming in off the street to see what was going on, and they were not disappointed. It was a very special time for us and a great experience. Afterwards, we partied with our new friends and RCC, some a little harder than others, but we enjoyed each other and being friends with each other and dancing and singing. We definitely had a fun time in Warsaw.
